Well, Winter Chill Dinner 2007 is in the books. Shaking off the doldrums of the gloomy season, accompanied by a total lunar eclipse and a dozen or more wine bottles, the Gang met at Pazzo's for another gala event. The usual standard (high) was met.
Notwithstanding that Claire and Carol made a tactical error in letting Stevo, Randy (the one in the middle) and Baz sit together, the squared off table allowed great conversation, laughs, and a reminder that we're all losing our hearing and sight. The only downside was that the proprietor wouldn't let our Chill Flag fly, but no matter, we got it in the group shot above, taken by our waitstaffperson, Sergei. Great name working for an Italian restaurant.
Beside the great apps, entrees and desserts, we all completed the Big Chill 2006 gift-giving by delivering the final product of the Rosenfields' framed photo collage: each couple created their own version of a collage to give to an assigned couple. A lot of the same pictures were used, but with individual creativity, and the Big Chill X photo montages will grace the walls at everyone's home quite nicely.
But the hit of the night went to Baz, who in old Bazzano tradition distributed a US quarter-dollar (no piker, he!) to the gentlemen. Now, we've come to expect this bizarre behavior from The Bald One, but this time we were anticipant for the other shoe to drop. Which it did at night's end, when he and Claire gave us our own Parking Meter Alarm. How generous of him to make sure we don't fall prey to the same predicament he encounted this past Chill. FUSU!
All and all, another great dinner. And 7 months to Chill XI, where it will fall to the Sweeneys to plan the Mystery Tour. And who decides the Annual Memento? Brick and Lynn, you're up!
